Anto.Raja.Dominic@julius-kuehn.de, Burkhard.Golla@julius-kuehn.de Introduction Modern Farm Management Information Systems (FMIS) are evolving into digital platforms that combine farm records, external data services, models and decision-support tools. This Use Case focuses on integrating scientific DSS components into FMIS to support pesticide risk assessment, smart documentation, mitigation planning and sustainability-oriented farm management. The objective is to demonstrate interoperable web services for next-generation FMIS, with a focus on pesticide-use documentation, field-specific environmental risk assessment and practical recommendations for lower-risk crop protection. The Use Case also addresses secure, farmer- centric data handling to reduce administrative burden while supporting compliance and policy reporting. Methodologies • Integration of FMIS data, pesticide-use records, crop and field information, weather, soil, topography, waterbody, mitigation and Earth Observation data. • Use of scientific models and indicators to assess pesticide risks, GHG emissions, costs, biodiversity-related impacts and mitigation options under realistic field conditions. • Development and demonstration of modular DSS components as interoperable web services connected to FMIS platforms via APIs. Output • Demonstrators for a Benchmarking & Mitigation DSS Toolkit and Smart Pesticide Documentation, supporting strategy comparison, mitigation advice and farmer-centric data management. • Field-specific assessment and visualisation outputs for pesticide risk, GHG emissions, costs, mitigation effects and spatial risk context. Impact • Improved decision support for farmers and advisors through field-specific, data-driven recommendations and benchmarking across farms or regions. • Reduced administrative burden and stronger evidence base for compliance, monitoring, reporting and policy support. What we can offer • Expertise in pesticide risk assessment, DSS development, field-specific environmental modelling and smart documentation workflows. • Web-service components and concepts for linking scientific models, spatial data, FMIS platforms, benchmarking and mitigation planning. What we need • Exchange with Use Cases on FMIS, DSS, benchmarking, indicators, EO services, environmental risk assessment and policy support. • Partners for testing DSS components, smart documentation workflows, interoperable APIs and privacy-preserving governance concepts in other EU regions.
