Anto.Raja.Dominic@julius-kuehn.de, Burkhard.Golla@julius-kuehn.de Introduction This Use Case explores how Earth Observation (EO) Data Cubes support sustainable agriculture and policy implementation across Europe. While initiatives like Copernicus produce vast EO datasets, many end-users (farmers, advisors, public authorities, SMEs, FMIS providers) face technical and financial barriers in accessing raw data and instead expect Analysis-Ready Data (ARD). The UC aims to map existing Data Cube initiatives and assess their potential for agri- environmental monitoring and data-driven decision-making. Methodologies • Literature Review of academic and technical sources on Data Cube frameworks • Stakeholder Interviews with farmers, advisors, agencies, and policymakers • Mapping of Initiatives such as Euro Data Cube, DCS4COP, Rasdaman Federation, EarthServer, and DIAS platforms (Sentinel Hub, CODE-DE) • Evaluation of Data Cube capacity for crop monitoring, yield estimation, resource efficiency, and ecosystem tracking Output • Mapping Report on EO Data Cube Initiatives • Stakeholder Needs & Barrier Assessment • Best Practices and Recommendations for Data Cube Adoption in Agriculture Impact • Lowering technical and financial barriers for agricultural end-users to access EO data • Supporting EU-wide agri-environmental monitoring (e.g. biodiversity, yield monitoring) • Informing policy-making with data-driven evidence What we can offer • Expertise in EO Data Cube analysis for climate adaptation/mitigation in agriculture • Access to and characterisation of major European Data Cube initiatives via OGC standards • A structured mapping methodology combining literature, stakeholder input, and technical assessment What we need • Stakeholder access: contacts among farmers, advisors, agencies, SMEs, and policymakers across Europe for interviews and validation • Technical exchange with Data Cube providers and platform operators • Collaboration with other UCs working on FMIS, decision support systems, and environmental data
